What is a man who has no landscape?... Nothing but mirrors and tides. (character, Athos in anne michaels fugitive pieces new york: vintage books 1996: 86, quoted in Jacobo et al. 2004)
reading a few year-end comments on open democracy. not surprisingly, it generates thought.
We cannot see what we cannot see (Maturana and Varela, Rasch and Wolfe).
We cannot know what we cannot know.

reading Rouse (a review of Zammito) who makes the observation/claim that Kuhn was really an extension of the positivist frame rather than a stop/swerve. (Someone else in the Manikowski symposium might have made a similar comment.) He asks:
it would have been instructive to ask why The structure of scientific revolutions emerged as pre-eminent among the historicist criticisms of logical empiricist philosophy of science between 1958 and 1962 (Polanyi, 1958; Hanson, 1958; Toulmin, 1961; Feyerabend, 1962) (Rouse 2005: 836).

thought it might be worth checking through modules, however, with the following that seem of interest:

"Come on, there is nothing to exaggerate about (Article 301 of the penal code). Is there anyone who has actually been tried and imprisoned from it?"
As if the only cost one paid was imprisonment ...
Here is a cost for you ... Here is a cost ...

wikipedia is great. all kinds of information and, perhaps more
especially, attempts to untangle it and to be comprehensive. i expect
the diversity of participants is an aid to the diversity of entries.
the disambiguation page for "evolution" notes the various scientific
uses(theories) from biolgocial to higher to stellar evolutioin. there
are also categories for film, games, other. probably because it is
something foreign to me, i followed the link for "evolution" a "major heel professional wrestling stable"
(say again?)...
what fascinates is
the photo...
and i eventually get around to wikipeida policy on original research...
